Description

Sequence Stacks is a fast-paced, strategic card game where players race to build numerical sequences from one to five in matching colors. Using a mix of number cards and special action cards — like Skip, Reverse, Wild, Steal a Card, Steal a Chip, and Block — players must plan carefully while adapting to their opponents’ moves. Completing a Sequence earns a colored chip, and the first player to collect five chips (with at least two red and two blue) wins the game. With 120 cards and 40 chips included, this game is perfect for 2 to 6 players aged 7 and up, offering an exciting balance of strategy, quick thinking, and a touch of unpredictability.

How to Play

1. Setup – Choose a Dealer. Shuffle all cards and deal 5 cards to each player (keep hands hidden). Place the remaining cards face-down in the center, with room for two more piles. Separate the red and blue chips into piles.
2. Start a Sequence – On your turn, play a “1” card or a Wild card to begin a new Sequence pile. Each pile must match a color, and players can have up to two Sequence piles per color.
3. Play Cards in Order – Add cards one number higher than the top card on a pile, matching its color. You may play from your hand or the top of your own discard pile.
4. Use Special Cards – Action cards like Skip, Reverse, Wild, Steal a Card, Steal a Chip, and Block trigger special effects and don’t end your turn when played.
5. Empty Your Hand Bonus – If you play all 5 cards from your hand in a turn, immediately draw 5 more and continue playing.
6. Discard & Draw – End your turn by discarding one card face-up onto your personal discard pile, then draw back up to 5 cards.
7. Complete a Sequence – Playing a “5” completes a Sequence pile. Set the cards aside and claim a chip matching that pile’s color (unless blocked by a Block card).
8. Win the Game – The first player to collect 5 chips — with at least 2 red and 2 blue — wins Sequence Stacks.
