Description

Codenames Images is a team-based visual guessing game that challenges players to think creatively and communicate strategically. Two teams compete to be the first to identify all their secret images on the board, guided only by one-word clues given by their team’s Spymaster. Each round tests players’ deduction skills as they interpret clues and connect them to the correct images — all while avoiding the opposing team’s cards. How to Play

1. Setup – Divide players into two teams and select one Spymaster from each team. Lay out the image cards in a grid on the table.
2. Reveal the Key Card – Each Spymaster views a key card showing which images belong to their team, the opposing team, and any neutral or “avoid” cards.
3. Give a Clue – On their turn, the Spymaster gives their team a one-word clue along with a number, indicating how many images on the board relate to that clue.
4. Guess the Images – Teammates discuss and select the images they believe match the clue, aiming to identify only their own team’s cards.
5. Continue or End Turn – Teams can keep guessing as long as they’re correct, up to the number given, or stop early if unsure.
6. Avoid Mistakes – Selecting an opposing team’s image or a neutral card can end the turn early or cost the team an advantage.
7. Alternate Turns – Play passes between teams, each taking turns giving clues and guessing images.
8. Win the Game – The first team to correctly identify all of their secret images wins the game.
